Tools for Nepali PDFs that get the text right
Convert Nepali PDFs to Word or plain text with correct Unicode Devanagari — even the PDFs where copy-paste gives you garbled letters.

Why Nepali PDFs are hard to convert
Open a Nepali government notice, a Lok Sewa Aayog result or an old Preeti document, copy a line, and paste it somewhere else. More often than not you get the wrong letters, ि in the wrong place, or strings of English characters like g]kfn instead of नेपाल.
The page looks fine because the letter shapes in the PDF are right. What is broken is the hidden table that tells software which letter each shape is. Ordinary converters trust that table, so they produce broken text too.
These tools do not trust it. They rebuild the correct text from the fonts embedded in the PDF itself, put Devanagari vowel signs back in the right order, and convert old fonts like Preeti and Kantipur to standard Unicode.
What makes it different
Accurate, not guessed
No AI and no OCR. Text is recovered from the PDF's own fonts with fixed rules, and anything uncertain is flagged instead of silently guessed.
Preeti to Unicode
Documents typed in Preeti, Kantipur, PCS Nepali, Fontasy Himali or Sagarmatha come out as standard Unicode Nepali that works everywhere.
Tables and layout kept
Tables stay tables. Headings, alignment, bold text and page margins carry over into the Word document.
Private by default
No account needed. Uploaded files and results are deleted automatically within 30 minutes.
Free API
Developers can convert PDFs to Word, text or Markdown from their own programs. See the API.
